Atelier
About
I have always been drawn to sculpture — to the act of shaping matter with my hands, the resistance of clay, the mark a finger leaves, the life that hides in imperfection.
In 2017, at Assamblage in Bucharest, I encountered jewellery for the first time, and something clicked: classical techniques, a contemporary vision, and a material that could hold the memory of touch permanently. I never stopped seeing jewellery as sculpture.
Each piece begins as a modelled form. Through the lost wax process, its raw texture, gesture, and deliberate irregularities travel into metal and remain there, held in silver.
This collection is my first. It is how I see myself as a maker.
Masks
The seven pieces are drawn from the ceremonial masks of the Romanian villages — Capra (the Goat), Ursul (the Bear), Malanca, Cerbul (the Stag), Turca, Moșul (the Old Man), Baba (the Old Woman). These are characters of the winter rites, danced from house to house at the turn of the year, with bells, incantations and small choreographies that have been quietly handed down for centuries.
Each piece in the collection keeps something specific from its character: a horn, a wrinkle, the edge of a jaw, the weight of fur. Translated into fine silver, these become objects you can wear close — sculptures that travel with the body.
The collection debuts at Romanian Jewelry Week. Some pieces are one of a kind; others are very limited editions.
The atelier
All pieces are handmade in fine silver 925, in the artist's own atelier in Romania. The process — wax modelling, lost-wax casting, finishing — takes days for each object. Nothing is mechanically reproduced. Each piece carries the atelier's mark and an inventory number on the reverse. Adjustable pieces can be sized to measure.
The atelier works by appointment. Enquiries are answered personally.
