The story of the piece
In the Goat Dance, the shepherd leads everything. The goat dances at his command, is sold, falls and dies, and it's the shepherd who charms her back to her feet. The old year goes, the new one begins, and he's the one holding the whole story together. The face is carved in wax and cast in silver, beard worked line by line. The cap is cut separately from suede. Worn on a lapel or a heavy coat.
